Israel has launched a series of strikes on Beirut, Lebanon in recent days as part of an expanded offensive targeting Hezbollah’s finances. Hundreds of residents were forced to flee their homes following evacuation orders issued by the Israel Defense Forces. The IDF claimed that they were targeting buildings used to finance Hezbollah’s terror activities. In one instance, a hospital in southern Beirut was evacuated after Israel alleged that a Hezbollah cash bunker was located underneath. The hospital’s director denied these claims, but officials still decided to evacuate the facility. The IDF stated that they would not directly attack the hospital but were targeting the alleged bunker beneath it. The escalating tensions in the region have caused panic among residents and raised concerns about the potential for further violence.
