Jorge Ramos, a renowned anchor for Spanish-language network Univision, is leaving the network after nearly 40 years. The network announced that his contract would not be renewed after it expires soon. Ramos, who has been co-anchoring Noticiero Univision since 1986, is known for his fearless journalism and has won 10 Emmy Awards. He has also been a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, which led to a heated altercation during a news conference in 2015. Ramos’ departure marks the end of an era in Hispanic journalism, as he has been a leading voice in challenging politicians in the U.S. and Latin America. He plans to continue anchoring until December and will announce his future plans afterwards. Ramos’ daughter, Paola Ramos, is also a journalist and contributor at MSNBC.
