Khan respects Gold Star families but believes Trump is exploiting their grief for political gain. He criticizes Trump for using a photo op at Arlington National Cemetery for his campaign and defends Harris against attacks blaming her for military deaths during the withdrawal. Trump has defended his actions, saying he was asked to take photos at the cemetery. The Trump campaign has blamed Harris for the service members’ deaths. Several families have invited Trump to Arlington Cemetery and blamed Biden and Harris for their loved ones’ deaths. Khan does not want to second guess the Biden-Harris administration’s actions in Afghanistan, as he believes it is not in the national interest and will be exploited by the country’s adversaries.
